About Us

Sound Company, originally founded in Horsham in 2013, was established by a dedicated group of Barbershop singers led by Pat Deeble. The chorus began with just eight members and quickly grew with the addition of three more singers. Their shared passion for close harmony led them to perform at various venues around Horsham, including the Piazza Italia festival and local shopping centres.
Recognising the need for a new environment in which to grow, the chorus relocated to Farnham in January 2016.
They now rehearse at the Seale and Sands RBL Club, located at:
Seale & Sands Club Ltd, 1 The Green, The Sands, Farnham, GU10 1LL.

Since its move, Sound Company has evolved from a modest ensemble into a strong and dynamic group capable of competing at the prestigious annual Barbershop convention.

Barbershop singing is known for its four-part harmony in an a cappella style, producing rich chords that resonate with overtones. Sound Company’s repertoire spans an eclectic mix—from classic jazz standards by Van Morrison to contemporary hits by James Taylor and The Flying Pickets—offering something for audiences of all ages.
In Barbershop music, each vocal part plays a vital role: the lead carries the melody, while the tenor, bass, and baritone harmonise to complete the chord. This style prioritises clear lyrics, singable melodies, and finely tuned intonation achieved through careful pitch adjustments to create perfect harmony.

Under the direction of Chorus Director Sarit Aloni, Sound Company’s rehearsals focus on refining tuning, dynamics, and ensemble unity. Sessions begin at 7:30 pm with structured warm-ups, followed by focused work on repertoire, exploring musical nuance and expressive delivery. Songs are dissected and reconstructed to achieve balance and emotional impact.
Barbershop performance goes beyond just vocal skill—it’s a holistic experience that incorporates visual storytelling to enhance the musical message. Rooted in authenticity and heartfelt expression, Sound Company captivates audiences through the seamless integration of sound and movement.

Through dedication and collaboration, Sound Company continues to enchant audiences with their rich harmonies and vibrant performances, embodying the timeless magic of Barbershop music.
