About Us
Sound Company originated in Horsham in 2013, founded by a dedicated group of Barbershop singers led by Pat Deeble. Initially comprised of eight members, the chorus quickly expanded with the addition of three more singers. Their passion for harmonious melodies led them to perform at various venues in Horsham, including the Piazza Italia festival and local shopping centers.

Recognizing the need for a change in location to thrive, the chorus relocated to Farnham in January 2016, finding a home at the Spire Church on South Street. Over time, Sound Company has evolved from a modest ensemble to a formidable group capable of competing at Barbershop’s prestigious annual convention.

Barbershop singing, characterized by its four-part harmony A cappella style, resonates with audiences through its unique ability to create harmonious chords that reverberate with overtones. From classic Jazz standards by Van Morrison to contemporary hits by James Taylor and the Flying Pickets, Sound Company’s repertoire spans a diverse range of musical genres, catering to all ages.

In the realm of Barbershop music, each voice part plays a crucial role in crafting seamless harmonies, with the lead carrying the melody while the tenor, bass, and baritone harmonize to complete the chord structure. This style emphasizes clear lyrics, singable melodies, and precise intonation, achieved through adjustments in pitch to attain perfectly tuned chords.

Embodying the essence of Barbershop performance, Sound Company's rehearsals are characterized by a blend of vocal exercises aimed at refining tuning, dynamics, and unity among members. Under the guidance of Chorus Director Sarit Aloni, the ensemble meticulously dissects and reconstructs each song, focusing on achieving balance and emotional depth in their delivery.

Beyond musical prowess, Barbershop performance is a holistic experience, incorporating visual elements to enhance the thematic resonance of each song. Rooted in authenticity and heartfelt expression, Sound Company's performances captivate audiences with their seamless integration of musical and visual storytelling.

With rehearsals commencing at 7:45 pm, Sound Company members engage in a structured warm-up routine followed by focused sessions on repertoire songs, refining nuances in delivery and harmony.
Through collaborative effort and dedication, Sound Company continues to enchant audiences with their rich vocal harmonies and impassioned performances, embodying the timeless allure of Barbershop music.
